Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-informed care helps people heal in all aspects of life, not just physically but also mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Trauma is a word that can mean different things to different people making it easy for some people to identify with the concept while challenging others. We define trauma as any event that has been too overwhelming to process and has had an impact on someone’s life.

Wounds from trauma can lead to sensitivity of the body where normally innocuous stimuli can actually trigger great pain (as well as efforts to protect ourselves from that pain). By caring for people in a way that facilitates healing of their trauma, they can begin to process and integrate their experiences so that healing can happen and protective mechanisms become unnecessary.

At WeHeal, we provide a comfortable and safe environment, within which people can approach their experiences and reconnect to and heal all that is underneath.
